College of Computer and Informatics Sciences continued the activities of the course organized by the Department of Information Technology entitled Fundamentals of Scientific Research, under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Hamdaniya, Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Sliwa, Acting Dean of the College of Computer and Informatics Sciences.
The second day of the course witnessed a lecture delivered by Lecturer Dr. Omar Farouk Mohammed, in which he introduced the ORCID researcher identifier, explaining its concept and importance in documenting researchers’ academic identities and linking their scientific output to journals and international databases, as well as its role in reducing name ambiguity and promoting academic integrity.
The lecturer also reviewed the mechanism for creating an ORCID account and ways of using it to support the research profile and facilitate tracking scientific output, especially when submitting papers to academic journals.
The course aims to develop researchers’ skills in the field of scientific research and enhance their academic capabilities, contributing to the advancement of the scientific and research level.
